Why did Satan attack Job?

God directed Satan's attention to Job. God asked the one question the enemy surely did not want to hear: "Have you considered My servant Job?" Satan's answer was an accusation: he charged Job with selfishness, claiming that if God touched Job's body, Job would curse Him. Because he so maliciously despises God, Satan feels vindicated when he can move any believer to malign God's character.
